Do you have a Faith that can Endure during these last days in which we live?

We believe that each of us must walk each day with the type of faith that will carry us through all the hard and crazy times that we all are experiencing.

Today we are discovering the biblical answers to questions that many of us have about Faith.

Questions like; “What is Faith”?
How do we get Faith? How much Faith will we need?
Is there a limit to how much Faith we can acquire?
Is there power in Faith? Can Faith truly move mountains? Can Faith heal? Does God tell us how Faith works and how we are supposed to work it?

All good questions.

Faith means to trust God. Do you trust God in all things?

Come with us on a journey to discover the answers.

Rom 10:17  Then faith is of hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

We start our study in the biblical chapter on Faith. Hebrews ch 11. It starts out by giving us the definition of Faith. Here is a short outline. I’ll be posting many biblical references on faith along with some of the great biblical scholar’s explanations, as we go.

Gal 3:5  Then He supplying the Spirit to you and working powerful works in you, is it by works of the law, or by hearing of faith?

Hebrews ch 11 uses Old Testament examples of Faith to explain what it is. It begins with the classic definition.

What is Faith?

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (11:1).

2. Why is faith important?

Without faith it is impossible to please God (11:6).

3. In what does faith believe?

Faith believes that God is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (11:6).

4. What does faith look like in a person’s life? Marvelous examples.

Abel offered a costly sacrifice (11:4).

Enoch lived in a way that pleased God (11:5).

Noah obeyed divine warnings and built a giant ark (11:7).

Abraham left Ur at Gods calling and went out, not knowing where

    he was going (11:8).

Sarah bore Isaac in her old age (11:11).

Abraham was willing to offer up Isaac, his only son, trusting that

God was able to raise him up (11:17).

Isaac blessed his sons and exhorted them to obey the covenant (11:20).

Jacob likewise reminded his sons of Gods promises (11:21).

Joseph expressed his confidence that God would bring the Israelites out of Egypt (11:22).

Moses parents refused to carry out the commands of Pharaoh to kill their child (11:23).

Moses turned his back on the passing pleasures of sin and sided with the downtrodden children of Israel,  leading them out of Egypt and obediently carrying out the difficult commands of God (11:24).

The Israelites, led by Joshua, trusted God to give them victory over the city of Jericho (11:30).

Rahab believed in the power of God and helped the Israelite spies (11:31).

Many other Old Testament people of faith trusted God for power and victory and refused to compromise their faith in God, even in the midst of life threatening circumstances. (11:32)
