In this teaching you will learn how to “Resist the Devil” and how to be an overcomer over all evil!
All Christians can come under attack by deceiving and evil spirits. Demons!
style=”font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;”>But God has given us teachings and tools to help us overcome. The demonic wants us to live our lives in sin, ruin our testimony about Christ’s workings in our life, make us sick, and even to kill us. Whether a Christian realizes it or not, a war is being waged against us every day.
It is our job to be awake and aware of what is going on in and around us, asking ourselves little questions to check ourselves. Active Christians should constantly allow our righteousness meter to run, monitoring our thoughts, actions and associations. Always listening for the leading of the Holy Spirit to guide us.
It is when we let our guard down and start listening to the deceiving spirits speaking to us that we can get into trouble. Whenever we buy into the lies of deceiving demons we are pushing the Holy Spirit aside.
Deceiving spirits are always at work to gain ground and gain access into our flesh or mind. Once the deception of sin or thought has been believed or accepted it has gained a possession. It has acquired a legal right to be there and do its dirty work. It is now possessing a small part of you. (Not to be confused with Total Possession)
So what do we do? We are obedient and do what the Word of God tells us to do.
Resist the Devil and He will flee!
In James 4:7-11 it teaches us:
James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
James 4:9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
James 4:11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
1-Submit yourself to God: You must surrender yourself to God. You can no longer be in charge. Turn your life and your self will over to Him. When we are saved and living in submission to God, we gain the “Authority of Jesus Christ. We ask, but we receive not. We receive when we are in submission to Him and ask…humbly and believing.
2-Resist the Devil: You must make a decision to go to war with Satan and all of his workers of evil. Declare war on any sin in your life and develop a hatred toward all of his workings. Under the Authority of Jesus Christ, we rebuke and resist the temptations and influences of Satan.
3-Draw near to God: Thirst for God’s presence. Desire Him more than anything in your life. Commune with the Holy Spirit. The presence of the Holy Spirit in your life is your key that will open up the victory. Draw near to God and He will draw you to Him. Praise Him.
4-Cleanse your life from the bondage of sin and all demonic oppression. Examine yourself to make sure you are being faithful to the Lord and all of His ways. Sin is what the demons feed on. It is the source upon which they have permission to affect us. Repent and cleanse yourself with the Blood of Jesus. Refuse to listen to the Prince of Darkness and all of his lies. (John 8:44)
5- Purify your heart and soul: Purify yourself of all resentments, negative thoughts, anger, fear, false pride, bitterness, jealousy and envy in your heart completely. Develop a forgiving heart. Try to feel the pain you have caused yourself or others. Identify all those who have hurt you and that you haven’t forgiven.
6-Be afflicted and mourn: Demons and all oppression can cause a person to develop a casual attitude toward sin, thus you may not feel the effects of sin your life. We must feel the pain of sin and have remorse for pain caused by it. Pray that God opens up and softens your heart to the pain we have caused in others and in the Lord. These Demons often cause a person to develop a hardened heart toward sin and those we have hurt We must have remorse for our sin and hurts that we have caused and be willing to apologize and make amends. So then we confess our sin with our lips. (1John 1:9, James 5:16)
7-Humble yourself: False pride is the great deceiver and cause of much of the emotional pain in our lives. False pride will allow any demon or sickness to remain in your body. The key to being delivered is a humbled and broken heart. (Ps 34:18, 51:17, 147:3)
8-Do not speak negatively about yourself or others: Satan is the author of negative thoughts and words. When we are self-critical we are speaking against God’s creation. When we speak negative convictions and words against another we are speaking a curse upon them and ourselves. When our mind and speech are captured by negative thoughts and words we are leaving an open door for the demonic to come in and operate.
Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
But we can’t do it alone.
Deut 20:4 – For the LORD your God [is] he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.
We resist the devil by refusing to listen to or follow all demonic Deceiving Spirits of temptation. We refuse their ideas, therefore their workings. Thus denying them any ground from which to work in our lives.
God created us with a free will and HE EXPECTS TO USE IT! AND
Phil 4:13– I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
The believer must revoke the consent he unknowingly gave to the lies, temptations and workings of the deceiving spirits.
The refusal of the lies and workings of deceiving spirits is necessary. Refuse as well the ground upon which they have obtained a foothold. The believer may say as his declaration of decision:
By the Power of the Blood of Jesus, we boldly Rebuke and Refuse.
I refuse the “influence” of evil spirits.
I refuse the “power” of evil spirits.
I refuse to be “led” by evil spirits.
I refuse to be “guided” by evil spirits.
I refuse to “obey” evil spirits.
I refuse to “pray” to evil spirits.
I refuse to “ask” anything of evil spirits.
I refuse to “surrender” to evil spirits.
I refuse all “knowledge” from evil spirits.
I refuse to listen to evil spirits.
I refuse “visions” from evil spirits.
I refuse the “touch” of evil spirits.
I refuse “messages” from evil spirits.
I refuse all “help” from evil spirits.
I rebuke you in the name of Jesus Christ!
On a moment by moment or day by day basis we can reclaim any ground lost to the evil one and his workers and regain the victory of our life in Christ.
Romans 8:31 – What shall we then say to these things? If God [be] for us, who [can be] against us?
Romans 8:1-39 – [There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
God provides us with the tools to be overcomers. Walk each day with a Faith that Endures!
You can be cleansed and healed by repentance, forgiveness and by the power of “The Blood of Jesus”!

My friend, Are you confident where you are going to spend eternity when this all ends? There is an end for all of us some day. Some of us maybe today.
There is only one way to know and be assured– Ask our Father in heaven in Jesus Christs’ name in prayer today!
Are You Saved from damnation, the eternal fate of so many?
Are you sure? Ask Him. Find out and be assured.
Rom 8:16The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God.
When we ask the Lord, in Jesus Christ’s name, He assures us with His peace and understanding.
If for any reason you question your salvation, go to a quiet place, alone, and talk to Jesus. Repent of your sins and commit your life to Him. Then go to a bible believing church and get baptized. He is faithful! He always listens and always responds!
